Mrs. Bharati Vusirikala currently works as a Consultant Ophthalmologist in Singleton Hospital, Swansea and Neath Port Talbot Hospital. She qualified in India in 1997, did her Ophthalmic training in Wales, and then went on to do fellowships in Oculoplastics at Cardiff and Cambridge.

As a full time NHS consultant, she deals with patients with oculoplastic, adnexal and ocular surface problems on a daily basis, as well as being an experienced cataract surgeon covering both routine and complex cataract surgeries. She also treats adult patients with Glaucoma, Diabetic Retinopathy and other general ophthalmology problems routinely in her clinics. She performs laser procedures for diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and other conditions.
She has been involved in training future Ophthalmologists as part of her role as a Royal College tutor and educational supervisor since 2012 and is currently the audit lead for the Ophthalmology department.
